SOP for Finished Goods Warehouse
1.0 Purpose:
To
ensure that the finished goods warehouse area as well as garments in the area
are free from any sorts of metal/ sharp object or hazardous that is risky for
finished products. This is a part of quality assurance process.
2.0 Scope:
This
procedure is applicable for all the finished goods warehouse of the
organization.
3.0 Responsibility
In
charge – finished goods warehouse & Finishing In-charge is responsible to
maintain this procedure.
HR will
help to maintain this procedure assigning a security in finished goods
warehouse.
4.0 Requirements
Lock box
for keeping offending materials with register.
5.0 Procedure
5.1 Finished goods warehouse
5.1.1 Where facilities allowed
temperature and humidity should be controlled at the following conditions: 20C
and <50-60% relative humidity.
5.1.2 Nothing should be kept off
the floor, plastic pallets must be used
5.1.3 Environment should be clean
and dry
5.1.4 Clean walls and floors using
a dilute detergent, disinfectant or dilute bleach.
5.1.5 Clean watermarks and mould
spores from the walls by gently wiping with a soft cloth.
5.1.6 Cleaners must wear PPE.
5.1.7 Remove dust from shelves,
glasses or windows regular basis.
5.1.8 Clean factory maintaining a
schedule.
5.1.9
There should be a responsible person for finished goods warehouse.
5.1.10
Finished goods warehouse should be separated from production area, except for
certain places or doors, the entrance or exit of anything will be strictly
prohibited.
5.1.11Tthere
will be a full-time security guard outside the finished goods warehouse.
5.1.12 The
finished goods warehouse doors will be locked on the outside but open on the
inside, allowing easy access from the inside and control of entry from the
outside. If anyone want to enter from outside, you have to enter through finger
print or card punch for approved personnel maintaining proper record for the
person without approval.
5.1.13
If anyone has any metal item, before entering the finished goods warehouse, it
should be registered in the register, deposited with the security guard and
entered.
5.1.14 Finished
goods warehouse should not allow any personal item i. e bag, box, food or
drinks, sharp tools etc.
5.1.15 Loose
cartoon, Open cartoon not allow inside finished goods warehouse in any
circumstances.
5.1.16 If
need to bring out any cartoon from finished goods warehouse that must be
approved by QS Team or respective buyer’s representative/ GPQ.
5.1.17 If
packing list revised and need to remove cartoon or change cartoon it must be
approved by QS Team or respective buyer’s representative/ GPQ.
5.1.18 Working
inside the finished goods warehouse is not allowed in any circumstances.
5.3 Metal Item
5.3.1 Under no circumstances
should any metal item be allowed inside the metal free zone.
5.3.2
Under no circumstances may any metal tools such as cutters, scissors, poker,
stitch opener, metal pins, needles, tag guns, anti-cutters, knives, staplers,
pins, blades, metal clips, broken & sharp wooden/ plastic/ glass etc. be
used inside the metal free zone.
5.2
Security Guard
5.2.1 There must have a full-time security guard
along with a body scanner in front of the finished goods warehouse.
5.2.2
When someone enters, Security guard will scan, if any metallic item is found,
it will be recorded in the register and kept to themselves and will return at
the time of exiting.
5.2.3
Anyone other than the authorized person will be required to sign the register
to enter.
5.2.4 He
will not allow any unauthorized activities, entry or exit of person, Item or
goods from or to finished goods warehouse.

8.0 Definition
Finished goods warehouse: A metal
free zone is an area surrounding the
industrial or sanitary conveyor where no metal is present and any metal
access fully prevented.
